Background Story:

The year is 2041, the global energy crisis is now a full-blown obsession for the world powers as they jockey for control over diminishing resources. While searching for the lost remains of a World War II era German submarine, a small band of maritime archaeologists discover a new form of life that could change world fortunes forever: a deep sea species capable of generating massive amounts of inexhaustible energy.

Each of these amazing creatures, come to be known as glowspheres, can produce the amount energy equivalent to 10 times of that produced by a nuclear reactor, but only if handled correctly. Their volatile nature is both powerful and deadly. Theoretically, this unharnessed power could be used to solve the worlds energy crisis or, if discovered by the wrong people, could generate a weapon far greater than any ever before conceived.

The worlds scientific community must act quickly to analyze the potential power of the glowspheres before Ian McClusky, the worlds most wanted narco-terrorist, catches wind. Unconfirmed reports say McClusky is currently exploring deep sea regions for unknown reasons, but do not appear scientific in nature.

To counter this threat, a consortium of the G20 has brought home from sabbatical the only person capable of completing the mission that could save the world: Dr. Valerie Toule. Now only one question remains is the world too late?

Dr. Valerie Toule, Ph.D.

Graduating from the Institute of Marine Sciences at UCLA Santa Cruz, Dr. Valerie Toule is a marine biologist specializing in deep sea ecosytems and aquatic species. Her work has brought her around the globe where she has identified 47 new species, including the dodecapus, a twelve-legged cephalopod believed to be a myth. Valerie was on sabbatical visiting her family in South Africa, when she was called brought back for an urgent mission.

Ian McClusky

Intel on Ian McClusky is limited. He grew up in Scotland with his mother, the famous geneticist Maura McClusky. He exceled in academics, including: graduating magna cum laude from a presitgious London boarding school and going on to study bio chemistry at Harvard University. Later, he broke ties with his family and is believed to have masterminded several terrorist attacks, including the 2035 bombing of the Corroterra station. Currently, Ian is the most wanted man alive.

The Glowspheres

Not much is known about this recently discovered species. Accidentally found by a small band of maritime archaeologists searching for the lost remains of a WWII-era German submarine, the Glowspheres appear to be capable of generating massive amounts of inexhaustible, yet volitle, energy. While they have been kept secret from the public, their existence is slowly being recognized by scientists, world leaders and at least one known terrorist organization.
